Clinicopathologic Analysis of the Gastric Remnant Lesions after Billroth II Operation for Chronic Peptic Ulcer

Abstract

|
Six patients who had had Billroth Ii iperationon their stomach after chronic pepitc ulcer over 10 years previously were examined by endoscopic biopsy and/or second gastric resection with esophagojejunostomy or gastrojejunostomy. In three cases
gastric
adenocarcinoma was developed; about anastomosis site in two cases & proximal portion apart from anastomosis site in one case. Remaining three cases had no malignant lesion; marginal ulcer & gastritis cystica profunda in one case, chronic active
inflammation with foveolar cell hyperplasia in one case, and chronic atrophic gastritis in one cases. In this study, the clinical data, the gross and miscroscopic pathologic featrue, and variable histologic change introducible after partial
gastric
resection for chronic peptic ulcer was described in detail.
